About
Framework, founded by Beau Laughlin in 2018, strives to create beautiful, architecturally significant residential, retail and hospitality projects.
We think of ourselves as a collaborative partner on every project, working closely with owners, the design team, and subcontractors. With our in-house build team, and our trusted network of artisans, every space showcases impeccable craftsmanship, careful attention to detail and a dedication to superior materials. We take pride in open communication with our clients, demystifying the construction process by creating a clear action plan and timeline. Efficiency and effectiveness is an integral part of how we manage our projects.
Laughlin found his passion for building and design through his background in the Los Angeles restaurant business. The spaces, which he designed and served as general contractor for, gained the attention of publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Bon Appetit, Rolling Stone, Domino, Forbes, Wallpaper, to name a few.
Laughlin's restaurant concepts include Atrium, awarded Los Angeles Magazine’s "Best New Restaurant" in 2019 and featured in Food + Wine Magazine which declared Laughlin a "prolific restaurateur." In 2016, he opened two of the Eastside’s most celebrated restaurants, Sawyer and Kettle Black – which garnered a glowing review from Pulitzer Prize-Winning Food Critic, Jonathan Gold. Deemed two of the “Best Restaurants” in Los Angeles by LA Magazine and The Los Angeles Times, both restaurants elevating the Silverlake dining scene.
Laughlin lives on the Eastside of Los Angeles with his wife Lindsey, and two dogs George & Freddy.
